Love is forever, until it ends. When it ends, especially in high school, it seems as if your world has just shattered and your left broken with no idea how to pick up the pieces. How can something that seems so superficial have the ability to cause so much hurt? After all, love can basically be broken down into a chemical reaction, right? Everyone thinks they understand love yet no one can fully define or explain it in a way that makes sense to everyone else. It is the most complex emotion, and it is a path to an infinite number of outcomes. Although we think we know what it really is, love is a concept that is outside human understanding. Love drives people to do crazy things; it's not entirely logical, but we still continue to seek it.
It seems that more people are hurt by relationships than benefit from them. There are of course the lucky few that find their perfect match but everyone has had their heart broken at least once. Since we are continuously looking for love, we put ourselves in imperfect relationships that result in a deeper emotional pain.
Should we allow ourselves to gamble in love when the odds appear to be against us? I believe that the answer will always be yes. The reward of finding true love outways the risk.
