Relationships Backround

Why are we so fascinated with love? Is it that we really want love, or are we so in love with the idea itself? Either or, we all strive for one thing, to be loved. Some may want to study business, while others hate work. Some may want to plan, while others are living day to day. Some may want to change the world, while others wouldn’t care. But we all desire to be loved.
We all dream of the man who will sweep us off our feet and carry us into the sunset. But does this even happen?  Love has been around since the dawn of time, you would think that we would have it all figured out. It just happens to be the one aspect of life that cannot be solved. Throughout this process, my goal is to find a deeper understanding of love. How has it changed over the course of many years, is our media having a greater effect on our generation than we are thinking? Love now has a different meaning than it did in say, the 1920’s or the 1960’s but we are a rapidly growing world and things are going to change. But are they good?
As I grow older, my perspective of love changes. This is only natural. In elementary school, I loved any boy who gave the slightest interest in me. In middle school, a relationship meant popularity and the essence of being ‘mature’. Now I am in high school, the world of drama and relationships. Most teenagers think they know what love is but the truth is, I don’t think we have the slightest clue. However there are the lucky ones. The lucky high school couple who run off and live happily ever after. But the truth is, that only happens to 2% of high school couples.
So why do we do it? Is it for security, or is it simply because our influences, such as friends. Whatever the reason is, we cannot stop searching for love. But love is not impossible to find. It often occurs when we have met requirements within ourselves. Why some people struggle to find love is because they have not first loved there self. How can we give someone our other half if we don’t even know who we are yet? You would struggle to add anything to one another.  Maybe that’s why my generation is so confused. We are told that relationships are good and secure so we rush into love. We force ourselves to love before we even know what it means. Sometimes we just need to breath and slow down. But how do we? Were to busy searching.
